We are seeking an experienced Proposals Engineer to provide technical support about rice and rice processing machines to sales and marketing and to process customer inquiries from concept to order, creating concept drawings, flow sheets and detailed quotations.

As Proposals Engineer, your key responsibilities will include providing technical support to sales personnel in house and on-site (including taking part in customer presentations and negotiations), translating customer / sales person concept to quotation, producing and maintaining the quality and accuracy of quotations and using detailed technical knowledge to advise the sales person of the best rice processing solution, matching capacities and ensuring that correct practices are followed. You will also be involved in maintaining gross profit within quotations, liaising with Engineering and other company departments to ensure the best possible flow of information to the customer, reporting the sales activity and deputising for the Sales Quotations Manager in his absence.

To succeed as Proposals Engineer you should be qualified to degree level or equivalent in an Engineering discipline with strong rice processing experience and a mechanical engineering background. You should have proven work experience in a commercial and engineering environment and excellent product experience.

You must be fluent in written and spoken English and have a high level of competency in Autocad.

To succeed in this role, you must be able to demonstrate the ability to read and understand technical documents and diagrams, to compile reports to be read by staff and customers, to pass on technical knowledge to others and to be very precise in the detail of proposals and quotations. You must also be able to show a good understanding of machine types and operation.
